Fire Writer Friday: Linn B. Halton

Cowboy Marvin loves listening to the Written Fireside stories and is having great fun learning a little more about

Graciously, those author who participate in the round robin stories have agreed to stop by, on certain Fridays, and visit with my curious goat.

Stopping by this Friday is

Linn B. Halton

Hi Ms. Halton, so nice of you, and your little furry friend,
 to stop by.

Now down to business, are you a night owl or early bird?

Early bird, but …

a night owl often when I’m writing.

Personally, I find that morning is the best time to find nom nom nommies,
 but to each his own.

Moving on, who would you be, Batman or Robin?

So hard to choose … let me think … hmm. I think I’d rather be the damsel in distress, knowing there were two rescuers at hand!

If you are ever in distress,
 dear damsel,
send out the Goat Signal.

Would you take a taxi or a limo if they were the same price?

A taxi, every time.

I rode in a lot of limousines when I was young as my father was in the business. Of course they were a more classic shape then, my favourite was a classic Bentley limousine. The stretch ones just don’t do it for me, I’m afraid. I’m a classic car sort of gal.

FYI these are classic goat carts.

The best for human travel in my humble opinion.

Moving on, what was the last song you listened to?

It’s on my iPod loop as it was one of the records I listened to whilst writing my first novel, five years ago.
Brings back memories!

Cool song.  Do you sing along with him?

I love to sing along with humans.
Everything sounds better with a goat.

So, what about your taste in movies, do you like scary, comedy, romance or adventure?

then comedy.

I have to be in the right mood

for scary!

I don't do scary.

 I'm a goat of peace,
but I can be quite romantic.

What light through yonder window breaks?

It is the west, Oregon, where the sun makes blackberries juicy.

What season do you like best, Spring, Summer, Winter or Fall?

Spring, always.

Oh yes, definitely,

spring is great!

    Tons of green munchies.

Would you tell me a place you've never been to,
 but would love to visit?

The Appalachian mountains

One day …

Looks appetizing.

Maybe some day I'll join the

 Southern Appalachian Conservatory

when they herd goats,

and get a belly full.

Tell me, would you swim in the ocean or a pool?

More like which would I be running away from (the pool, I love walking by the ocean).

I can’t swim and am scared of deep water!

Keeping your hooves on dry land, is best, I agree.

After all, what proper food is in water?

How would you go camping - sleeping bag under the stars, tent, trailer, fancy RV, or a hotel with room service?

Did the tent once.

Hotel with room service please.

That looks mighty tasty but this goat hasn't found many hotels willing to serve him.

Guess I'll have to stick with a tent and self serve breakfast.

One last question.  A goat walks through your door right now wearing a cowboy hat.  What does he say and why is he there?

“You can tell Mr Tiggs I’m here. Pay-back time!”

Mr Tiggs is my cat and he has the face of Brad Pitt and the swagger of John Wayne. He’s a strong defender of his ‘turf’ and if Goat strayed into his territory the fight would be on.

Linn is a multi-published author.

Her latest book

will be available 23 September 2014

Katie’s relationship has had more than its fair share of problems. After a difficult few years things begin to pick up and Katie finally realises her dream of opening up a bakery. Sweet Occasions specialises in novelty and celebration cakes, plus the most inspiring range of cupcakes anyone could possibly ask for!

Utilising her passion and skill helps to inject happiness back into her life, but it’s short-lived as things begin to fall apart. The reality is that you need to run a business with your heart AND your head.

Help is at hand in the shape of her partner, Steve. He has the necessary experience, but does Katie want to tie herself to him financially, as well as personally?

Then one rainy, wintry day a bedraggled customer steps inside the door to order a cake …

Sometimes a turning point centres around one single moment in time: sometimes it takes two Christmases and three birthdays …

Linn's bio:

I live in a small village in Gloucestershire with the man I fell in love with, virtually at first sight. We were at a party and our eyes ‘met’ across a crowded room! My days are spent with characters who become friends and Mr Tiggs, a feline with catitude. I always knew that one day I would write romantic novels, but I never dreamed they would have a psychic twist! I’ve experienced many ‘unexplainable’ things, but it took a long time for me to accept the reality of what that means. Love, life and beyond…  but it’s ALWAYS about the romance!

Thanks for stopping by Linn!
